A Passion For Horses And The Australian Bush.
Hi, I’m Stef — horsewoman, storyteller, bush soul and the heart behind The Bush Pony.
I created The Bush Pony from a deep love for Australian equine culture, the land, and the horses that have shaped life in the bush for generations.
For a long time, I watched Australian horse culture slowly become overshadowed by imported trends and aesthetics. While I can appreciate many horse cultures around the world, I also believe there is something incredibly special about our own stories here in Australia; the stockmen and stockwomen, the brumbies, the Walers, the packhorses, the mountain cattlemen, the station horses and the everyday bush riders who built their lives alongside horses.
The Bush Pony is my way of preserving, celebrating and sharing that spirit.
This isn’t about polished perfection or elite competition. It’s about the real heartbeat of horse culture in Australia. Dusty yards, mountain tracks, old saddles, campfires, hard-working horses, bush skills, freedom, resilience and the bond between horse and human.
Through stories, photography, education, travel, heritage and lived experience, I hope The Bush Pony becomes a place where people can reconnect with authentic Australian horse culture and help keep these traditions alive for future generations.
Whether you grew up in the bush, dream of the High Country, love brumbies, admire the old stock routes or simply feel something stir when you see a horse standing quietly in the Australian landscape…you’re welcome here.
This is more than horses.
It’s heritage.
It’s identity.
It’s the spirit of the Australian bush.

What not everyone knows is that alongside The Bush Pony, I run Bush Pony Marketing — a marketing business built specifically for equine businesses across Australia.
After spending years in marketing and even more years immersed in horse culture, I realised there was a real gap: equine businesses run by people who are exceptional at what they do with horses, but who find the digital and marketing side of things overwhelming, confusing, or just one more thing on a very long list.
That's where I come in. I understand your world — the seasonality, the community, the language, the values. And I know how to translate that into marketing that actually works.
